Beyond assessment & diagnosis, I provide evidence-based strategies and support that support a young person’s emotional, social and cognitive development.
As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in autism, I specialise in providing thorough, NICE-compliant assessments and diagnosis for pre-teen children. My practice focuses on delivering high-quality assessments within just 6-8 weeks, avoiding the usual 2-year waiting lists. This ensures your child receives timely support when it matters most.
I am the co-author of the After Diagnosis of Autism Parent Training program (ADAPT). ADAPT was written with the specialist teachers for Autism in York in 2020 because it was recognised that NHS services are often not commissioned to provide after-diagnosis support and information and that parenting a child with neurodevelopmental differences is different to parenting a neurotypical child.
It is full of practical ideas and advice regarding modifications that may need to be made in order to support an autistic child’s ongoing social, emotional and cognitive development.
In addition to expert assessments, I offer evidence-based highly individualised positive behavioural support assessments and interventions. My goal is to help families navigate life after diagnosis with practical tools and ongoing support, ensuring your child has the best foundation for development and success.
While autism looks unique in every pre-teen, parents often reach out when they notice these patterns:
Children become increasingly reluctant or resistant to attending school.
Children experience increased anxiety, both at home and in school settings.
Children have difficulty with routine activities, such as dressing and eating.
Children struggle to connect and interact with their peers at school.
Get expert autism assessment and support in weeks, not years. I provide clear answers, practical strategies, and ongoing guidance to help your family thrive. Schedule your consultation today.
Every family's journey is unique, but they often share a common thread: the need for understanding, support, and practical guidance.
